Apply now Share Occupational Therapist – Neurological Rehabilitation Part-time (0.5FTE) Position Leading Brain Injury Rehabilitation Provider Location- Hamilton Personal and Professional Development Dynamic Inter-Professional Team Are you passionate about supporting clients who have sustained a brain injury to regain independence? ABI Rehabilitation has an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in brain injury and experience in rehabilitation to join our progressive inter-professional team in the Intensive rehabilitation service. This role will involve providing occupational therapy services within our inpatient rehabilitation service from the immediate post-acute phase through to community re-integration. You will be working with a team of Therapists within an interdisciplinary team. This is a growing service and therefore there are lots of exciting opportunities for service development and quality improvements. Why ABI Rehabilitation? ABI Rehabilitation is the lead provider of intensive adult in-patient brain injury rehabilitation in New Zealand, serving over 85% of this population. We are the only provider in Australasia to have attained the CARF Accreditation, an international gold standard for person centered, quality rehabilitation. Our ideal candidate will be a dedicated occupational therapist with excellent communication skills, sound knowledge and strong clinical reasoning skills, and a demonstrated track record of teamwork. A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in neurorehabilitation is preferrable, however, open to all candidates based on experience. The Caseload Is Varied, And Key Areas Include Cognitive assessment and rehabilitation Functional assessment Goal setting Individual and group intervention Assessment and trial of equipment including wheelchairs and seating Education of clients and families/whānau Community reintegration and managing graduated return to home We can offer excellent opportunities for professional development within a supportive and cohesive interdisciplinary team environment. Regular supervision and in-service training will be provided. Previous experience in acquired brain injury rehabilitation is highly preferred.
