Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members. Position Overview Calian is currently seeking a “Community Health Nurse” to add to our dedicated team of civilian professionals working at CFB Halifax. In this role you will be primarily involved with disease and infection prevention initiatives, immunizations, and overall health promotion and protection of all CAF members posted to CFB Halifax. Responsibilities Manages and participates in immunization and travel medicine instructions. Manages and participates in desensitization clinics. Performs screening for tuberculosis and/or other illnesses. Promotes health improvement initiatives by planning, coordinating, and facilitating health promotion clinics Assess individual needs for and provides education and counseling related to the prevention of health disorders and the maintenance of quality of life when health is impaired. Attends clinics that support and guide CF members affected by similar health conditions, documents and makes recommendations for outside referrals. Participates in the management of the outcome data on population health and assists in the extrapolation of health trends pertaining to individuals. Promotes health improvement initiatives by planning, coordinating, and facilitating health promotion clinics. Qualifications Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nova Scotia Baccalaureate Degree from a recognized nursing program Copy of current BLS or CPR-C with AED certification 3 years of full time clinical experience within the last 5 years in the field of Public Health / Community Health / Occupational Health (Infection prevention and control, disease prevention, health promotion and education, immunization programs, etc) Successful completion of a Nurse Immunizer course considered an asset Additional Requirements You will be able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Reliability level Compensation $45 – $50.61 hourly Vacancy We have one available position AI Usage Disclosure At Calian, we do not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen or evaluate candidates. Exigences
