Practice / Fellowship Opportunities > Locum Plastic Surgeon - St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton Locum Plastic Surgeon - St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton Category: Physician Province: Hamilton , Ontario Position: Locum Plastic Surgeon Deadline: October 31, 2026 Posted: September 7, 2026 Job Description / Duties A locum opportunity is available within a high-volume academic plastic surgery practice affiliated with McMaster University and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton from January through June 2027, to provide maternity leave coverage, with the potential for extension thereafter. The practice is predominantly focused on hand surgery, with additional operative volume in breast reduction and other routine breast procedures, as well as a substantial minor surgery practice including skin cancer, benign lesions, and other common soft-tissue lumps and bumps. Current clinical resources include a minimum of one main operating room day per week, one minor procedure day, and one ambulatory clinic day per week, with the potential to access additional operative and clinical resources based on interest and availability. The position includes participation in a 1-in-4 to 5 call schedule. The practice is supported by an experienced administrative team with established referral pathways, scheduling support, and efficient practice infrastructure. This would be well suited to a plastic surgeon seeking a broad-based clinical and operative practice within an academic hospital environment, with the possibility of transitioning to a longer-term position pending application for a future posting of an academic position.
