Paladin Security is Hiring a Health Care Security Guard! Location: Wabasca-Desmarais, AB Schedule: Full-Time | Various Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) Pay Rate: CA$26.01/hour Employment Type: Full-Time Overview Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and community-focused Health Care Security Guards to join our team in Wabasca-Desmarais, Alberta. In this role, you will help create a safe and secure environment for patients, healthcare professionals, visitors, and the surrounding community. Healthcare Security offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, emergency response, and public safety. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are interested in building experience that can lead to careers in law enforcement, corrections, healthcare protection services, or advanced security operations. Responsibilities Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services and clinical staff Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and requests for assistance Follow and enforce healthcare safety regulations, policies, and procedures Professionally manage confidential and sensitive information Communicate effectively using radios, computer systems, and reporting tools Assist visitors, patients, and staff with professionalism and compassion De-escalate conflicts and manage high-stress situations safely Maintain a secure environment through proactive observation and intervention Document incidents involving patients, visitors, and staff Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate daily logs Respond promptly to emergency situations and security concerns Support healthcare operations through strong customer service and teamwork Must Have Must reside within 30 minutes of Wabasca Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Must be available seven days per week for scheduling purposes Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License Valid Class 5 Driver’s License Reliable personal vehicle Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional, customer-focused, and tactful demeanor Ability to write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs Strong decision-making skills under pressure Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Ability to walk approximately 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs Legally authorized to work in Canada Nice to Have Previous healthcare security experience Crisis intervention or de-escalation training Experience working with vulnerable populations First Aid and CPR certification Experience in healthcare, public safety, law enforcement, or corrections environments Health Care Coverage Dental Coverage Premium Wages for On-Call Healthcare Assignments Travel Incentives Extensive Training and Development Programs Internal Promotion Opportunities Employee Rewards and Recognition Programs DailyPay Available – Access Your Earnings Before Payday Stable Full-Time Employment Career Growth Opportunities

Exigences

Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to obtain an Alberta Security License. Must be available for various shifts including nights and weekends and be physically capable of walking 18-20 km per shift.
