Job Summary And Requirements This posting This posting will be used to fill auxiliary on call positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 6-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions within Yukon EMS. This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon . Who We Are The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. Who We Are Looking For As a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), incumbents will employ professional Primary Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment to the Whitehorse population. The PCP assesses patient condition in order to formulate a treatment plan and to initiate emergency interventions and non-emergency care to provide optimal patient wellbeing. This work is carried out in environments where there is limited medical support. Completion of a hospital-based or other recognized paramedical education/ program Recent experience providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transportation. Conditions of employment You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted. valid PCP licence from a paramedic governing body in Canada, TB screening; RCMP check with vulnerable sector check; and class 4 Yukon driver’s license (or equivalent) Job Requirements This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following: shift work, including weekends and standby, travel, wearing a uniform. physical effort, hazards, and discomfort as specified within the Job Description including exposure to high stress, sensitive situations, verbally and physically aggressive behaviour; working in awkward positions indoors and outdoors in all weather; lifting and transferring patients with assistance. ability to lift to 50 lbs. Exigences

Must have completed a recognized paramedical education program and possess a valid PCP license from a Canadian governing body. Requires a Class 4 Yukon driver's license, TB screening, and a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check.
