Position #: 9009253 Expected Start Date: October 06, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Addictions Outreach Office City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Addiction Serv Res Care Unit&Trtmt Facil-Adlt Outreach&Target Prev Services Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.64 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 9 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: No Job Description: As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * 1 year experience in a mental health setting. * Three (3) years nursing experience Education * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Other Education and Training * Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) * Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies * Advanced - Demonstrates word processing skills using Microsoft Office programs * Critical thinking skills * Decision making skills Knowledge and Abilities * Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy * Demonstrated high degree of accuracy is required of assigned responsibility * Knowledge in drugs of abuse and their effects * Knowledge in Mental Health nursing processes and appropriate interventions * Advanced knowledge of drug abuse and their effects during use and withdrawal * Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care * Knowledge Transtheoretical Model of Change * Knowledge in methadone/methadone assisted recovery * Knowledge in Provincial Addiction Clinical Model and DSM-4R * Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team * Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act * Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing/Assessment * Knowledge in mental health and addictions and concurrent medical conditions * Knowledge in harm reduction in Addictions Medicine * Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
