Sunridge Gardens has been a well-respected independent senior living residence in Langley since 2011. We are part of Bria Communities, a local, private company that operates four vibrant retirement communities in Langley and Tsawwassen.

Shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30-4:30 Thursday, Friday 12:30-8:30PM
Education & Experience
- Diploma in a therapeutic recreation, activity assistant, community recreation program or equivalent qualifications in the Senior Living / Gerontology field preferred
- Current basic First Aid and Serving it Right Certificate
- Class 4 Driver's Licence, or willing to obtain it within six months (company paid)
- Minimum one (1) year in a recreational setting
- Minimum one (1) year experience driving a bus is an asset
Key Accountabilities

Empowering older adults to live vibrant, purposeful lives by facilitating intentional programming that transforms everyday moments into opportunities for growth, connection, and genuine contribution.

Using Welbi and other tools, drive, assess and evaluate resident engagement and outcomes in programs across the seven dimensions of wellness while also involving families, volunteers and the local community.

Support in the development and production of monthly calendars, newsletters and informational materials for residents.

Operate the commercial bus or shuttle for outings, performing all required pre- and post-trip safety inspections.

Adhere to organizational values, policies and practices related to resident services, health and safety standards, teamwork and confidentiality.

Supervise volunteers and assist in setting program objectives to ensure high quality-of-care standards are met.

Actively engages with the resident in their lifestyle and wellness assessment, goal setting, action planning and celebrating goal achievement.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy and patience with residents, guests, volunteers and employees.
- Fluency both written and oral English
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail etc)
- Energetic, with a positive outlook and physically capable of frequent lifting, bending, and stretching
- Able to safely and efficiently operate all role-related equipment
- Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision and maintain courteous, tactful interpersonal relationships with residents,staff, volunteers and the community at large.
