Your Opportunity: This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful perioperative care in a close-knit rural hospital setting, where teamwork, adaptability, and community connection truly matter. Collaborating with an experienced surgical team, the LPN/ORT delivers safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout the patient’s surgical journey. Practice is guided by CLPNA, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and CSA Standards of Practice, with a strong emphasis on hands-on skill, accountability, and evidence-based care. In a rural environment, the LPN/ORT plays an essential role supporting patients before, during, and after surgery and contributing to a culture of safety, respect, and collaboration. Stettler is located in the “Heart of Alberta”, just 179km southeast of Edmonton and 101km east of Red Deer. It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11,000 people. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Post-Grad Perioperative Certification required. Or completion of a CLPNA approved perioperative course. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic, urology, gynecological, obstetrical - delivery/c-sections. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods.
