Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible. This Opportunity We are currently looking to fill (1) Part Time Personal Support Worker internally known as Support Service Attendant (SSA) in our Outreach Program for our Welland / Port Colborne areas. Schedule: Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, various hours per week. Wage: $23.11 This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave. Duties include the following: · Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures: - Travel required - Personal care - Lifts and Transfers - Rising/retiring - Bowel and bladder procedures - Meal preparation and feeding - Range of motion exercises - Other light housekeeping duties · Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety. Background / Qualifications: · PSW Certificate would be an asset and experience working with working with Older Adults, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client directed care · Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification · Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client based care · Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties · Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire · Good interpersonal and communication skills · Ability to speak, read, and write English · French-English bilingualism an asset · Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required · Paid Mileage, Paid Travel Time Questions about working at March of Dimes Canada?
