Physiotherapist – Post-Operative Surgical Recovery Program (Toronto) Location: 199 Avenue Rd 3rd Floor, Toronto, ON M5R 2J3 Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time Contractor Compensation: Competitive; based on experience and caseload About the Role Revibe is seeking a Physiotherapist to join our growing Post-Operative Recovery Program, providing immediate post-surgical physiotherapy care to patients recovering from orthopaedic procedures in Toronto. This role is focused on supporting patients during the critical first 48 hours after surgery through on-site hotel visits, mobility training, recovery education, discharge planning, and coordination of ongoing rehabilitation. You will play a key role in helping patients safely transition from surgery to independent recovery while delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is ideal for a clinician who is confident, proactive, highly organized, and passionate about helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes following surgery. Primary Objectives Deliver exceptional post-operative physiotherapy care during the immediate recovery phase. Ensure patients are safely mobilized and progressing appropriately following surgery. Provide comprehensive discharge planning and education to prepare patients for continued recovery at home. Collaborate with surgeons, nursing teams, and the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Represent Revibe through professionalism, clinical excellence, and compassionate patient support. Core ResponsibilitiesA. Post-Operative Clinical Care Conduct Day 1 and Day 2 post-operative physiotherapy visits on-site. Assess mobility, gait, transfers, balance, pain levels, swelling, and functional status. Guide patients through early-stage rehabilitation exercises and mobility progressions. Provide walking, stair, and transfer training as appropriate. Identify barriers to recovery and implement appropriate interventions. Monitor patient safety and escalate concerns when necessary. B. Patient Education & Discharge Planning Deliver comprehensive discharge education to patients and caregivers. Ensure patients understand their recovery expectations, precautions, exercise program, and next steps. Confirm patients are safe and confident with mobility prior to discharge. Coordinate transitions into outpatient physiotherapy and ongoing rehabilitation services. Maintain clear communication with patients regarding recovery timelines and milestones. Ensure every patient leaves with a structured plan for continued success after surgery. C. Documentation & Care Coordination Complete accurate and timely charting following each visit. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, surgeons, and care coordinators regarding patient progress and concerns. Maintain detailed records of patient status, treatment provided, and discharge recommendations. Participate in ongoing development of clinical protocols and post-operative care standards. D. Patient Experience Create a supportive, reassuring, and professional environment during a vulnerable stage of recovery. Build trust through empathy, education, and clear communication. Deliver a high-touch experience that reflects Revibe's commitment to exceptional care and patient outcomes. Ideal Candidate Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Strong orthopaedic and post-surgical rehabilitation knowledge. Comfortable working independently in hotel and community-based environments. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities. Passion for patient-centered care and recovery optimization. Experience with joint replacement, sports medicine, or post-operative rehabilitation is considered a strong asset. The Physiotherapist will conduct post-operative physiotherapy visits, assess patient mobility, and guide them through early-stage rehabilitation exercises. They will also provide discharge education and coordinate ongoing rehabilitation services.

Exigences

Candidates must be a Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and possess strong knowledge in orthopaedic and post-surgical rehabilitation. Excellent communication skills and a passion for patient-centered care are essential.
