This individual should be a team player, enjoy working with children and building on the developmental needs of their students. *Qualifications:* * Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing from a recognized College (CECE) * M.A.C.T.E recognized Montessori Directress * *At least 2 years of experience teaching in a childcare setting* * Standard First Aid & CPR (C) * Vulnerable Sector Check * Up-to-date Immunization including a 2 step TB test *Roles and Responsibilities:* * Plan individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional, and academic areas * Promote and encourage independence as well as group socialization/play * Identify, select, and modify work in the room to meet the needs of children with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs; * Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and coworkers as well as conduct report cards * Participate in school special activities and celebrations; * Responsible for diaper changing and/or assisting with toileting while demonstrating respect for the child (if applicable); * Responsible for classroom cleanliness; * Follows and implements health and safety through the uses of a variety of tools including daily observation forms, sanitary practices forms, medication forms, and the environmental assessment tools; * Performs other duties as assigned; * Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through on-going education and attends professional development courses and workshops; * Ensure the program is compliant with CCEYA.
