Company Description SecureRx Technologies Inc. builds enterprise-grade medication vision intelligence for organizations that manage medications in regulated, high-volume environments. SecureRx's adaptable technology supports pharmacy operations, specialty and patient-direct fulfillment, pharmaceutical inspection, and healthcare software integrations through API-enabled vision intelligence. Founded by pharmacists and focused on regulated healthcare environments, SecureRx is developing the visual evidence layer that underpins safer, more efficient, and auditable medication workflows. Role Description This is a paid internship / co-op role for a Data / AI Intern at SecureRx Technologies Inc., for the Winter 2027 work term (approximately January to April 2027), with flexibility for a Summer 2027 start and for a 4- or 8-month duration. The intern will work on the data and machine-learning side of SecureRx's vision-enabled medication-verification platform: building and curating image datasets, evaluating and improving computer-vision model performance, and turning verification data into the analytics that pharmacies and auditors rely on. Working closely with senior engineers and the founders, the person in this role will write production-quality Python, run structured model evaluations, build data pipelines and dashboards, and help document model behavior for a regulated healthcare environment. This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership and mentorship. Day-to-day responsibilities include dataset preparation and quality checks, model evaluation and error analysis, data pipeline development, and collaborating on experiment design and technical reviews. Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related program and eligible for a Winter 2027 internship or co-op work term (Summer 2027 also considered). - Solid Python fundamentals and comfort with data-handling libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy). - Understanding of core machine-learning concepts (training/validation, evaluation metrics, overfitting). - Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and communicate clearly within a small, collaborative team. - Exposure to computer vision, PyTorch/TensorFlow, SQL, or cloud platforms is a plus. - Interest in healthcare, pharmacy, or building AI that improves patient safety is a plus. Compensation Paid internship / co-op: CA$22–CA$29.5 per hour, depending on experience and study level. Remote, within Canada.

The intern will build and curate image datasets, evaluate computer-vision model performance, and develop data pipelines and dashboards. They will also document model behavior and collaborate on experiment design for a medication-verification platform.

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Statistics program and be eligible for a 2027 internship. Proficiency in Python and core machine learning concepts is required, while experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or SQL is a plus.
