Reporting to the Director of Primary Care, the Chiropodist works as part of an interdisciplinary team to support client mobility, comfort, function, and overall health through wholistic, client-centred care.This role supports early intervention, chronic disease management, injury prevention, and education, contributing to improved quality of life and continuity of care for clients across the lifespan.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive foot and lower limb assessments, including biomechanical and vascular assessmentsDiagnose and treat acute and chronic foot conditions, including skin, nail, structural, and musculoskeletal concernsProvide routine foot care, wound care, diabetic foot care, and preventative treatments within scope of practiceDevelop individualized treatment plans and provide follow-up care as requiredEducate clients on foot health, injury prevention, footwear, and self-care practicesCollaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals to support integrated primary careIdentify and manage risk factors related to mobility, falls, and chronic conditionsMaintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in electronic medical recordsParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and care planningAdhere to professional standards, infection prevention and control practices, and organizational policiesSupport culturally safe, respectful, and trauma-informed careQualifications & ExperienceGraduate of an accredited Chiropody programRegistered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of OntarioExperience working in primary care, community health, or clinical settingsExperience providing care to clients with complex or chronic health conditionsStrong clinical assessment and treatment skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary teamProficiency with electronic medical records and standard office softwareCore CompetenciesClient-centred and wholistic approach to careClinical judgment and evidence-based practiceStrong collaboration and communicationProfessional ethics and accountabilityCultural safety and humilityAdaptability and continuous improvementWorking ConditionsClinical environment with hands-on patient careRegular interaction with clients, families, and health care providersPredictable weekday hours with no evenings or weekendsMay involve prolonged standing and physical activityWhy Join Shkagamik-Kwe Health CentreShkagamik-Kwe Health Centre is committed to delivering wholistic, team-based primary care that supports overall wellness, mobility, and quality of life.
