Reporting to the Director, Resident Care, the Educator will coordinate and deliver facility wide educational programming, including general orientation, in-services, competency and general staff development programming for a variety of disciplines. Key Responsibilities * Include, but not limited to educational needs assessment/analysis, * Planning, program development, delivery * Coordination and evaluation, * Working closely with an outside provider for mandatory in-services. * Coordinate student affiliation programs, CPR & First Aid training; RAI/MDS and POC Education, do N95 fit testing, * Education for Family Involvement Volunteer Program, influenza and covid immunization for staff, * Coordinate food safety courses, PPE Coach, * Hand hygiene Audits. * The Educator is a St. Michael’s IPC Committee Member, and a Member of the Continuing Care Educators Group. Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications: * The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, or a Licensed Practical Nurse, * Training and experience in adult education. * Experience in delivering education in a health care setting is preferred. * The successful candidate will be a quick learner, with the ability to manage multiple projects, * Demonstrate exceptional problem solving skills, be innovative, has creativity, and initiative and be a self-starter. * Strong organization skills, communication skills, demonstrated leadership, personal integrity and the ability to build strong relationships are essential. * CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred. Must have Microsoft Office skills (intermediate level). * Candidate must possess current registration with CRNA or CLHA. Quality, Safety & Professional Standards * Maintain confidentiality and follow all privacy legislation (AITA, POPA, HIA). * Comply with corporate policies, procedures, OH&S standards, and emergency preparedness protocols. * Actively participate in professional development and support a positive workplace culture All successful candidates must have, before the start date: * A current and clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date. * A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months before the hire date.
