Job Summary Reporting to the Program Manager, the registered nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and ethical nursing care. Duties include ongoing monitoring of patient condition (data collection and record keeping); identifying nursing care problems; developing patient care and discharge plans and evaluating outcomes; providing direct patient care using the nursing process; guiding and assisting performance of other health care team members; and investigating, documenting and appropriately communicating patient care incidents. The registered nurse adheres to the philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of the Programs Portfolio and complies with all safety procedures on safe working techniques and reports any unsafe conditions to the Program Manager. The registered nurse is responsible for their own personal education and professional development. The registered nurse complies with the Occupational Health and Safety standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. Qualifications **Candidates will be considered in the following order: Minimum 2 years or 3,000 hours of current critical care experience (ICU,CCU, Cath Lab) OR 2 years or 3,000 of recent (within the last 2 years) P.A.C.U. nursing experience – required Minimum 2 years or 3,000 hours of current emergency room experience – required Competent in 12 lead EKG interpretation, defibrillation and hemodynamic monitoring Availability for all shifts and on call/standby - required Ability to communicate in French - asset Demonstrated mature, professional and responsible attitude Good interpersonal skills General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Education/Training Experience Current Certificate of Registration issued through the College of Nurses of Ontario - required BCLS certification – required ACLS, PALS certification - preferred EKG Interpretation Certificate required OR successful completion of arrhythmia Interpretation and Intervention exams - will be tested Windsor Regional Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
