Position Overview Under the general supervision of the CLINICAL NURSING DIRECTOR, OR THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, NURSING EDUCATION, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the CONTINUING EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel; facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required/assigned. Experience Minimum two (2) years recent Cardiac experience required. Experience in educational program planning an asset. Demonstrated teaching experience preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Bachelor of Nursing Degree required. Advanced Assessment Course required. Certification/Licensure/Registration Current CRNM registration required. Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred. Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated clinical expertise. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations. Good interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability in communicating with and teaching adults. Exigences
